Wilson’s strong showing in the PIAA Class 3A Girls Swimming and Diving Championships continued on the final day of competition at Bucknell University.
The Bulldogs had several high finishes and concluded the meet on Saturday in second place in the team standings with 188 points. Upper Dublin won with 261 and Hatboro Horsham was third with 180.
Wilson senior Olivia Vecchio finished second in the 100 backstroke in 55.68. Sylvia Roy of Mount Lebanon won in a state record time of 52.74.
Wilson’s 400 freestyle relay team finished third in the meet’s final event, swimming 3:28.99. The team was made up of Evelyn Quick, Sydney Woods, Kendall Bausher and Veechio. Hatboro Horsham won in 3:23.29.
On Friday, Vecchio finished fifth in the 100 butterfly in 56.14.
Wilson senior Emma Dougherty was sixth in the 100 breaststroke on Saturday in 1:03.36. Upper Dublin junior Sophia Sileo-Magliari won in 1:02.04.
Wilson senior Madalee Roberts finished 11th in the 100 freestyle in 51.67. State College junior Molly Workman won in a PIAA record time of 48.85.
Wilson sophomore Ellie Kulp finished 17th in the diving competition.
