Wyomissing qualified for the PIAA Class 2A team girls tennis tournament by defeating Lampeter-Strasburg 3-1 in the District 3 Class 2A third-place match Tuesday at Hershey Racquet Club.
The Spartans (12-2) got singles wins from Kathryn Masano at No. 2 and Lily Chen at No. 3, and a doubles from the Hadley Lynch and Lexi Aita at No. 1. The No. 2 doubles match did not finish. Lampeter-Strasburg () won at No. 1 singles.
Wyomissing will open play in the state tournament against the District 4 champion on Tuesday.
In Class 3A, Reading High lost to Cumberland Valley 3-1 in the district third-place match.
The Red Knights (16-3) already had clinched a berth in the state tournament, They will open against the District 1 champ on Tuesday.
