Four people were injured Tuesday morning in a crash on Interstate 78 caused by a wrong-way driver.
According to state police:
Just after 6:30 a.m. troopers were notified of a vehicle traveling west in the eastbound lanes of I-78 near the Route 183 exit in Upper Tulpehocken Township.
Several eastbound vehicles were forced to drive off the road to avoid colliding with the wrong-way driver.
Shortly after troopers received the initial report, the vehicle traveling the wrong way on the highway crashed head-on with another vehicle.
The occupants of the vehicle and the wrong-way driver were all transported to Reading Hospital for treatment of injuries. Information on their conditions was not immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing. No charges have been filed at this time.
