830 WEEU Brings Free Video Broadcasts to Live High School Sports Coverage

from 830 WEEU

Continuing its longstanding tradition of broadcasting high school sporting events across Berks County, PA, 830 WEEU has added free live video broadcasts to its outstanding coverage of local high school athletics.

Under the guidance of John and Kristine Treese of Treese Media Group, LLC, and with the support of Savage Auto Group, 830 WEEU will continue its coverage with live video broadcasts in addition to its audio-only broadcasts of high school sporting events throughout the 2024-25 scholastic year.

“It’s our mission at WEEU to provide the local community with the best coverage, and that means introducing the best in modern technology,” Treese Media Group CEO John Treese said. “WEEU now has video broadcasts in addition to the expert play-by-play and analysis. For decades you have been able to hear the game, but now you can see your friends, your family, and your team play as well. It is also important to us that this service is affordable and accessible to the community, which is why it’s streamed on YouTube for free. This is just the beginning of what we hope to provide for high school sports coverage, and we are excited for what’s to come.”

Local sports fans can now watch their favorite team or player by checking out 830 WEEU’s live broadcasts on the WEEU Sports channel on YouTube. Bring the game to your living room by searching for WEEU Sports on the YouTube app on your smart TV or other smart device.

Continuing a tradition rooted in the 1950s, local sports fans will still be able to find 830 WEEU’s high school sports broadcasts at 830 AM on their radio dial. Live audio-only broadcasts are also available on 830 WEEU’s website: https://www.830weeu.com.

Bob McCool, who broadcast his first game on WEEU in 1990, returns as a familiar voice to bring life to the broadcasts. With a wealth of local sports knowledge, McCool is also a broadcaster for the Reading Fightin Phils, the Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. He previously served as a play-by-play broadcaster at PCN, where he broadcasted the PIAA championships for 15 years.

Throughout the football season, McCool will be joined by color commentator Matt Lytle. The former Wyomissing and University of Pittsburgh standout and former NFL quarterback brings insight and analysis to the broadcasts. Lytle is in his second season on the broadcast team.

After the game is over, 830 WEEU’s coverage of high school sports doesn’t stop. Fans can tune in to “The Scoreboard Show” every Friday night until 11:30 p.m. to get the scoop on everything that happened on the gridiron across the Lancaster-Lebanon League and beyond.

Tune your radio to 830 AM or listen to the live audio-only broadcast on the 830 WEEU website to hear scores, analysis, and interviews with players, coaches, and reporters on “The Scoreboard Show,” hosted by Jeff Nolan and Matthew Knaub.
