Albright defeats Eastern in women’s basketball

Gabby Boggs scored a team-high 16 points as Albright defeated Eastern 72-63 in a Middle Atlantic Commonwealth Conference game Wednesday at St. Davids.

Albright (7-5, 12-7) led by as much as 23 in the third quarter.

Berks Catholic grad Abby Gaffney had 12 points for Albright. Brady Wassel and Amina Rauf each finished with 13 points.

Ashya Gaddy scored a team-high 16 points for the Eagles (3-10, 6-16).

Millersville 63, Kutztown 60: At Millersville, Makiah Shaw scored 16 points to lead the Marauders (6-11, 7-15) over the Golden Bears (12-3, 19-5) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East game.

Kutztown held a 50-49 lead halfway through the fourth quarter before Millersville went on an 11-2 run. The Golden Bears cut it to one on a Naia Pulliam 3-pointer.

Erika Reed made two free throws for the Marauders to make it a three-point game with six seconds left. Following a Kutztown timeout, Annie Whalen missed a 3-pointer with one second left.

Abbey Hearn and Casey Remolde each scored a team-high 14 points for Kutztown. Fleetwood graduate Lauren Lister scored nine points for Millersville.

Lebanon Valley 64, Alvernia 52: At Annville, Kate Fitzpatrick scored a team-high 17 points to lead the Flying Dutchmen (5-9, 10-13) over the Golden Wolves (3-9, 10-11) in a MAC Commonwealth game.

Lebanon Valley jumped to a 22-9 lead after the first quarter, but Alvernia was able to cut it to seven before halftime. The Golden Wolves were down 47-45 with 6:09 remaining in the fourth quarter when the Flying Dutchmen went on a 17-7 run to close it out.

Kayla Williams scored a game-high 18 points for Alvernia.
