Kutztown rolls past Penn State Berks in men’s college basketball

John Proctor scored 15 points Saturday to help Kutztown University defeat Penn State Berks 115-46 for its first men’s college basketball victory of the season.

Reading High grad Wesley Butler scored 14 points and was one of seven players to finish in double figures for the Division II Golden Bears (1-3).

Grant Watson had 12 points and six rebounds for the Division III Lions (0-3).

Kutztown 82, Jefferson 54: At Keystone Arena, the Golden Bears (5-2) used a 23-8 run in the second quarter to hand the Rams (3-1) their first loss in a non-conference game.

Abbey Hearn had team-highs of 19 points and seven rebounds to lead the Golden Bears. Casey Remolde scored 15 points, followed by Rylee Derr and Alexis Smith with 14 each for Kutztown.

Albright 63, Neumann 49: At Aston, Maggie O’Hare scored 20 points and Gabby Boggs had 17 points and 19 rebounds to lead the Lions (3-2) over the Knights (2-4) in a non-conference game.

Albright had a 15-point halftime lead trimmed to four heading into the fourth quarter. The Lions outscored Neumann 18-8 in the fourth to secure the victory.

Tierra Harris scored 14 points to lead Neumann.

Elizabethtown 68, Alvernia 46: At Elizabethtown, the Blue Jays (4-0) got 14 points and seven rebounds from Vernoica Christ in a non-conference win over the Golden Wolves (2-2).

Taliyah Malone scored 15 points to lead Alvernia.
