All-State Football Team: 11 Berks players earn recognition

Eleven Berks County football players have earned statewide recognition for the 2024 season, as recognized by the Pennsylvania Football Writers.

Schuylkill Valley led the way with three selections on the Class 3A All-State Team.

Logan Nawrocki, 6-1, 175 pounds, was picked as a quarterback, Luke Spotts, 6-2, 220 pounds, was picked at tight end, and Logan Cammauf, 6-0, 165 pounds, was selected at linebacker. All three are seniors.

In Class 6A, Wilson sophomore Mike Glover was honored at tight end and senior Madyx Gruber was picked as an athlete.

In Class 5A, Exeter running back Jayden Zandier and lineman Logan Wegman were chosen. Both are seniors.

Also in 5A, Muhlenberg junior running back Cameron Small was chosen.

In Class 4A, Twin Valley senior quarterback Evan Myers and senior defensive lineman Carter Faubel were selected.

Wyomissing sophomore Justice Hardy was selected as an athlete.

Schuylkill Valley won the Section 5 title in the Lancaster-Lebanon League, going 7-0 in league play.

Nawrocki ran the show for the Panthers, passing for 2,559 yards and throwing 35 touchdowns with just four interceptions.

Spotts caught 60 passes for 975 yards with 10 touchdowns.

Cammauf, who was picked at linebacker, was the Panthers’ leading rusher with 466 yards.

Wilson was all also section winner in the LL this season, going 6-0 in the league to win the Section 1 title.

Glover, 6-3, 219 pounds, was Gruber’s favorite target, catching 40 passes for 670 yards and seven touchdowns.

Gruber, 5-10 and 161 pounds, threw for 2,018 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also rushed for 702 yards and was a key member of the Bulldogs’ defense as a back.

Zandier, 6-2 and 185 pounds, gained 2,093 yards on 183 carries and scored 30 touchdowns with Wegman, 6-5 and 275 pounds, leading the way on the offensive line. Wegman has committed to the Naval Academy.

Small, 5-9 and 182 pounds, gained 2,051 yards on 250 carries and scored 23 touchdowns.

Myers was the leader of Twin Valley’s high-powered offense, throwing for 1,598 yards and 21 touchdowns. The 5-10, 185-pounder also rushed for 965 yards and scored 14 touchdowns.
