Arrests made, suspects sought for 11 drug overdose deaths in Reading

Reading police have arrested two suspects and are looking for another two suspects in connection to 11 drug overdose deaths that took place over a six-day period in April.

Melanie Emerich, 41, and Jesus Santiago-Caceres, 24, have been arrested on charges of drug delivery resulting in death, conspiracy to deliver drugs resulting in death, conspiracy and delivery of a controlled substance, and possession with intent to deliver.

Police are still seeking Jesus Martinez-Espinal, 35, on the same charges, and are looking to identify another man involved in the case.

The deaths took place between April 9 and April 15. Victims were found dead or died in the days that followed, according to police.
