Ashley’s Angels deliver Christmas cheer for 105 children in need

More than 100 kids will have gifts under the tree this Christmas thanks to Ashley’s Angels.

The nonprofit organization, created by Ashley Furniture more than two decades ago, made its annual holiday deliveries on Monday for children in need. The event was held at the company plant in Ontelaunee Township.

Volunteers had been busy shopping for 28 local families to provide them clothes, food, blankets and
special gift requests this holiday season. Ashley’s Angels of Pennsylvania raised more than $34,000 this year from various fundraising events.

Ashley’s Angels was created to help families struggling during the holiday season. In 1997, an Ashley Furniture ambassador, along with the help of some co-workers, helped create the idea after helping a local child in need.

Since then Ashley’s Angels has generated more than $3 million in donations and benefited more than 20,000 children in Mississippi, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and North Carolina in communities surrounding Ashley facilities.
