Gov. Mifflin’s Lydia Drago and her Mustang teammates ran away with titles in the girls meet Tuesday in the BCIAA Cross Country Championships at Kutztown.
Drago, a senior, won the 5,000-meter race in 18:41, winning by more than 50 seconds over Daniel Boone sophomore Julia Leady (19:32).
Drago and the rest of the Mustangs also cruised to the team title, scoring 38 points with Wilson second at 66 and Exeter third with 82. Gov. Mifflin won the title last year with Exeter finishing second.
In the boys race, Wyomissing senior David Giles defended his title, running 15:57 to finish more than 20 seconds ahead of Exeter junior Chase Choudhry (16:18). Oley Valley junior Ryan Gourley was third in 16:23.

Twin Valley put its five scoring runners in the first 15 finishers to easily win the team title with 48 points. Gov. Mifflin was second with 78 and Conrad Weiser third with 92.
The Raiders, who were third last year in the team race, were led by senior Frankie Disilvestro who finished fourth in 16:49. His senior teammate Cooper Schmidt was seventh in 16:59 and senior Jack Taylor was 10th in 17:04.
Drago finished second in last year’s meet to teammate Kaitlyn Highduch, who is now running at Lehigh. Drago’s time last year was18:53.
After Drago crossed the line first on Tuesday, sophomore teammate Melissa Sweigart was fourth (19:42) and fellow sophomore Molly Ornrdoft was sixth (20:38).

Twin Valley junior Riley Servis was third in 19:34.
Next up for Berks runners is the District 3 championships on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Big Spring’s home course in Newville.
