Twin Valley lineman Aris Drake has officially committed to play football and continue his academic pursuits at the Naval Academy.
Drake made a verbal commitment to Navy in the summer, but made it official recently by signing his letter of intent.
Drake was a key member of the Raiders’ offensive line which set the table for the Raiders’ potent attack this past season.
The Raiders gained 4,391 total yards, with 2,779 coming on the ground.
The Naval Academy is also getting another Berks lineman in Exeter’s Logan Wegman, who was the BCIAA Offensive Lineman of the Year this past fall.
Drake’s teammate Carter Faubel, the BCIAA Defensive Lineman of the Year, announced earlier this week that had committed to Doane University in Crete, Nebraska. Doane is in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and competes in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.
Their teammate Evan Johnson announced last week that he had committed to Millersville.
Johnson gained 929 yards on 116 carries this season, scoring 13 rushing touchdowns.
The Raiders’ all-around quarterback Evan Myers will be attending Kutztown.
Two other Berks players announced their college decisions this week.
Gov. Mifflin tight end Genuine Stutzman is heading to Bloomsburg University and Conrad Weiser tight end Evan Miller will be going to Muhlenberg.
