Yamilex Rodriguez scored six of her team-high 16 points in the fourth quarter and Elyssa Springs hit what turned into the game-winning free throw as Reading High pulled out a 42-41 high school girls basketball victory over Muhlenberg on Friday night.
The Red Knights trailed by a point, 31-30, entering the final eight minutes, but Rodriguez, Tamyia Collier (4 points) and Springs (2) rallied the Red Knights to the victory.
With the score 41-39, Springs hit one of two free throws to put the Red Knights up 42-39 with 19.4 seconds to play, which proved to be the deciding point after Muhlenberg scored a basket in the final 18 seconds of the game.
Lianna Martir scored 23 points for the Muhls.

Brandywine Heights 49, Kutztown 25
Addison Benner scored 19 points as Brandywine Heights scored a 49-25 win over Kutztown in high school girls basketball on Friday night.
Lauren Stoudt added 13 points and Sophia Benner had 12 for the Bullets.
Twin Valley 44, Daniel Boone 14
Hailey Kilgore scored 16 points and Lauren Williams added 10 as the Raiders defeated the Blazers 44-14 on Friday night.
Gov. Mifflin 48, Berks Catholic 39
Bella Super scored 20 points and Jayda Armstrong added 12 as the Mustangs defeated Berks Catholic 48-39 on Friday night.
For the Saints, Abby Cannon and Sydney Corado each had 12 points.
