Grady Garner rushed for 207 yards on 32 carries and scored four touchdowns as Gov. Mifflin defeated Hempfield 28-23 Friday night in high school football.
Garner scored on runs of 47, 3, 24 and 7 yards.
Travis Jenkins gained 60 yards on just three carries.
Gov. Mifflin is 2-1 and opens its Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 2 schedule next week, hosting Exeter.
Muhlenberg 40, Daniel Boone 29
Cameron Small rushed for 295 yards and scored four touchdowns to lead Muhlenberg to a 40-29 win over Daniel Boone on Friday night at Kutztown University.
Small scored on runs of 52, 1, 10 and 17 yards.
Daniel Boone quarterback Hadyn Moyer threw for 383 yards and three touchdowns. He completed 16 of 27 passes.
Max Heffner caught eight passes for 253 yards and a touchdown.
Muhlenberg is 2-1 and opens league play next Friday, hosting Lebanon. Daniel Boone is 0-3 and opens league play by hosting Octorara next Friday.
Emmaus 38, Reading High 7
Reading High quarterback Kayson Fritz scored on a two-yard run in the fourth quarter for the Red Knights only touchdown in a 38-7 loss to Emmaus on Friday night.
Reading High is 1-2 and opens league play next Friday at 7 p.m. by hosting Wilson (2-1).
Conrad Weiser 35, Lebanon 0
Javien Rivera scored two touchdowns and Conrad Weiser rushed for 277 yards as the Scouts blanked Lebanon 35-0 on Friday night.
Rivera gained 57 yards in the game as 11 different Scouts carried the ball.
Conrad Weiser is 3-0 and opens league play on Friday at Fleetwood.
Twin Valley 69, Olney Charter 0
Evan Johnson, Evan Myers and Chase Reilly each rushed for two touchdowns as unbeaten Twin Valley defeated Olney Charter 69-0 on Friday night.
Ben Grundy and Lucas Myers caught touchdown passes.
Twin Valley is 3-0 and ranked third in the state in Class 4A. The Raiders open league play Friday by hosting Elco.
Wyomissing 46, Academy of the New Church 19
Justice Hardy caught two touchdown passes from Teddy White as Wyomissing defeated Academy of the New Church 46-19 on Friday.
Hardy’s TD receptions were for 45 and 31 yards.
Chase Eisenhower rushed for two touchdowns, gaining 72 yards on four carries.
Wyomissing is 2-1 and opens league play by hosting Northern Lebanon on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
Octorara 20, Kutztown 14 OT
Austin Kurtz scored on a three-yard run in overtime to give Octorara a 20-14 win over Kutztown in overtime.
Kutztown led 7-0 after the first quarter on a five-yard touchdown run by Brenden Ackley.
The Cougars led 14-7 at halftime after Mason Sherry scored on a one-yard run.
Octorara tied it in the third quarter on Brayden Mastrippolitto’s 12-yard touchdown run.
Sherry led the Cougars in rushing with 81 yards on 22 carries.
Kutztown is 0-3 and opens league play at Schuylkill Valley on Friday night.
