Berks high school honor roll: Nov. 8, 2021

Boys cross country

Twin Valley junior Anthony Engle turned in the best time among Berks runners at the PIAA Cross Country Championships. He finished the Hershey Parkview Course in 17:13.90 to place 63rd among Class 3A runners.

Girls cross country

Wilson senior Katie Dallas placed eighth in Class 3A in the PIAA Cross Country Championships, covering the Hershey Parkview Course in 18:48.

Field hockey

Oley Valley senior Cassidy Drobek made six saves in a 1-0 win over Greenwood to help the Lynx win the District 3 Class 1A championship.

Football

Wilson senior quarterback Brad Hoffman rushed for 178 yards and three touchdowns to lead Wilson to a 50-32 District 3 Class 6A playoff win over York.

Boys soccer

Wyomissing senior Hannah Hurleman had the game’s first two goals in a win over Bishop McDevitt the District 3 Class 2A final as the Spartans won their second straight title. She also had a goal in a 3-1 win over Trinity in the semifinals.

Girls soccer

Girls tennis

Conrad Weiser sophomore Emma Perkins and senior Michelle Timothy teamed to win the PIAA Class 2A doubles silver medal.

Girls volleyball

Twin Valley junior Emma Lessick had 11 kills and 11 digs in a 3-0 win over James Buchanan in the District 3 Class 3A quarterfinals; eight kills and six digs in a 3-0 loss to Spring Grove in the semifinals; and 21 kills and 29 digs in a 3-1 victory over Berks Catholic in the third-place game that gave the Raiders their first PIAA Tournament berth..

Boys water polo

Gov. Mifflin senior Ben Gerhard scored 10 goals in a 17-16 win over Wilson and was named the Pennsylvania State Water Polo League Player of the Year after helping the Mustangs to a third-place finish in the state tournament.
