Boys basketball
Reading High senior Yadiel Cruz scored a career-high 25 points in the Red Knights’ 65-62 win over Hazleton. Cruz also scored 20 points in a 78-54 loss to Imhotep Charter.
Girls basketball
Wilson sophomore Laila Jones scored 16 points in the Bulldogs’ 62-37 win over McCaskey before scoring a career-high 24 in a 43-31 victory over Berks Catholic.
Boys bowling
Wilson senior John Giglio rolled a 757 series in a 3-0 win over Muhlenberg.
Girls bowling
Daniel Boone senior Julia Maggs rolled a 550 series in a 3-0 win over Hamburg.
Boys swimming
Reading High junior Trey Stricker was a double winner in both dual meets for the Red Knights. He won the 200 IM (2:09.62) and 100 breast (1:04.88) and swam on the winning 200 free relay in a 92-90 loss to Schuylkill Valley. In a 100-78 win over Hazleton, he won the 50 free (21.45) and 100 fly (55.74) and swam on the winning 200 medley and 200 free relays.
Girls swimming
Muhlenberg senior Leia Wolf won the 100 fly (1:04.72) and 100 back (1:07.65) and swam on the winning 200 medley and 400 free relays to help the Muhls defeat Blue Mountain 104-79.
Wrestling
Wilson senior Ryan McMillan won the 215-pound title at the Carlisle Classic with a win by technical fall over West Perry’s Quade Boden in 4:43 (18-1) in the final. Boden qualified for states in Class 2A last season. McMillan won each of his other three matches by pin (36 seconds, 43 seconds, 2:43).
