Berks high school sports honor roll: September 11, 2023

Boys cross country

Twin Valley junior Frankie DeSilvestro finished sixth at the Centaur Invitational at DeSales University in 17:21.3 to help the Raiders win the team title.

Girls cross country

Wilson sophomore Ella Reidinger finished eighth in 20:21.6 in the Varsity Gold division at the PTXC at Kutztown University for the highest finish among Berks runners.

Field hockey

Oley Valley senior Taylor Vaccaro had one goal and two assists in an 8-0 win over Lancaster Mennonite and three goals in an 8-3 victory over Southern Lehigh.

Football

Schuylkill Valley senior Dominic Giuffre ran for 245 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries, caught one pass for 15 yards and returned an interception 49 yards for a TD in a 48-14 win over Susquenita.

Golf

Fleetwood senior Ryan Hromiak shot a 6-under 29 through nine holes in the Tigers’ 137-147 win over Gov. Mifflin.

Boys soccer

Berks Catholic junior Julian Pichardo scored a three gls in the Saints’ 6-1 win over Antietam and had two goals in a loss to Wyomissing.

Girls soccer

Twin Valley senior Ashley Lavrich scored four goals in the Raiders’ 4-2 win over Berks Catholic and recorded one goal and one assist in a 3-2 victory over Lampeter-Strasburg.

Girls tennis

Berks Catholic senior Claire Pakradooni and junior Francesca Ditsky teamed to win 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles after each won in singles in the Saints’ 4-3 win over Gov. Mifflin.

Girls volleyball

Twin Valley senior Jordyn Robinette had 13 kills, 13 digs, three blocks and one assist in a 3-1 win over Gov. Mifflin, and 11 kills, two aces, three digs and one assist in a 3-0 victory over Reading High.

Boys water polo

Muhlenberg senior Brady Robidas scored 10  goals and had one assist to help lead the Muhls to a 15-11 victory over Exeter. He also had seven goals and one assist in a 16-5 win over Perkiomen Valley and five goals and two assists in a13-7 win over Hazleton at the Pennridge Tournament.

Girls water polo

Gov. Mifflin senior Kenlee Gollub made 35 saves over three matches to help the Mustangs go 3-0 at the North Allegheny Tournament. Gollub made 14 saves in Gov. Mifflin’s 13-4 win against North Allegheny, nine saves in its 13-4 win over Erie Cathedral Prep and 12 saves in a 15-5 victory against McDowell.
