Berks high school honor roll: September 5, 2022

Boys cross country

Twin Valley senior Anthony Engle finished first in 16:06.5 to help the Raiders earn victories over Downingtown East, Great Valley, Perkiomen Valley and Holy Ghost Prep at the Twin Valley Season Kick Off race.

Girls cross country

Conrad Weiser senior Sydney Werner finished sixth in 18:50.60 to earn a medal at the Northampton Invitational and help the Scouts win the Class 2A team title.

Field hockey

Gov. Mifflin freshman Makenna Baessler had four goals and two assists in three games to help the Mustangs (4-0) stay unbeaten. She had two goals and two assists in an 8-1 win over Conrad Weiser, one goal in a 4-3 win over Cedar Crest and one goal in a 3-2 win over Schuylkill Valley.

Football

Hamburg senior Pierce Mason scored four touchdowns — including one on a kickoff return and one on a punt return — to help the Hawks defeat Warrior Run 75-21. Mason returned the opening kickoff 87 yards for a TD, scored on runs of 23 and 6 yards, and returned a punt 69 yards for a score. He finished with 81 rushing yards on seven carries and had two catches for 18 yards.

Golf

Wilson senior Nate Neiswender shot a 1-over 58 over 15 holes at Manor GC to help the Bulldogs defeat Berks Catholic and remain undefeated.

Boys soccer

Tulpehocken senior Erick Sanchez Corona scored a goal and had an assist in the Trojans’ 4-0 win over Annville-Cleona before scoring two goals and recording an assist in a 5-0 victory over Lebanon.

Girls soccer

Brandywine Heights freshman Lauren Stoudt scored three goals and recorded three assists in the Bullets’ 8-0 win over Oley Valley.

Girls tennis

Wyomissing senior Kathryn Masano went 3-0 at No. 2 singles and teamed with Charlotte Reedy to go 3-0 at No. 1 doubles to help the Spartans open the season with victories over Gov. Mifflin, Tulpehocken and Blue Mountain.

Girls volleyball

Wilson senior Cam Niedrowski had 25 assists, three aces and 11 digs for the Bulldogs in a 3-0 win over Dallastown, and had 16 assists and six aces in the Bulldogs’ 3-0 win over Red Land.

Boys water polo

Wilson senior Kagen Boettner had 15 goals and two assists in four games to help the Bulldogs go 4-0 at the Jump Start Tournament at Wilson. He had two goals and two assists in an 8-1 win over Exeter, four goals in a 10-7 win over La Salle College, seven goals in a 16-5 win over Souderton and two goals in a 5-4 win over North Penn.

Girls water polo

Wilson junior Mikayla Arthur had seven goals and three assists to help the Bulldogs go 3-0 at the Jump Start Tournament at Wilson. She had five goals in a 16-4 win over Souderton, two goals and an assist in a 14-3 win over Exeter and two assists in a 6-5 win over North Penn.
