Berks high school sports roundup for Oct. 10

The Exeter Eagles tuned up for the BCIAA boys soccer tournament by playing to a 1-1 tie with Cedar Crest on Thursday.

Callan Stuck scored in the first half for the Eagles (7-10-1) on an assist from Evan Smith.

Cedar Crest tied the game in the second half on a Matthew Golub goal, assisted by Vincent Mattern.

Exeter goalie Brenton Feathers made eight saves, as Exeter had a 14-12 edge in shots.

The Eagles are the eighth seed in the BCIAA tournament and played at top-seeded Conrad Weiser (17-0-1) at 4 p.m. Saturday in a quarterfinal match.

Girls soccer

Audrina Colon scored two goals and ten other players scored as Muhlenberg defeated William Penn 12-0 in a high school girls soccer match on Thursday.

Alexis Martin, Ellie Bear, Izel Sanjuan, Heidi Castellon, Adriana Esquivel, Alenna Reider, Sophia Luigard, Ismali Liriano Mezon, Ashley Caisaguano and Dollie Monroe each scored for the Muhls, who had a 25-0 edge in shots.

Oley Valley 6, Salisbury 1

Natalie Engle and Tyler Schlegel each scored two goals as Oley Valley defeated Salisbury 6-1 on Thursday.

Erica Colantuono and Alyson Magee also scored for Oley.

Field hockey

Garnet Valley defeated Twin Valley 4-1 in a field hockey match on Thursday.

For the Raiders, Kylie Duke scored off a corner on an assist from Bella Massafra.

Raider goalie Ava Winchester made 8 saves.

Daniel Boone 3, Muhlenberg 0

Laura Camburn scored two goals as Daniel Boone defeated Muhlenberg 3-0 in a field hockey match on Thursday.

Taylor Williams had the other goal for the Blazers.
