Berks library cardholders can save money at local businesses

Berks County library cardholders can save money at local businesses this September when they show their library card.

The Berks County Public Libraries System is partnering with 24 establishments for the Show Your Library Card & Save initiative to provide special deals and discounts as part of National Library Card Sign-up Month.

Frequent library users recognize they can save money by using their library card to borrow books, movies, and more. The Show Your Library Card and Save partnership aims to emphasize the cost-saving benefit of a library card by unlocking additional deals at local businesses from Sept. 1 to 30 during their regular hours of operation.

Participating businesses include: ANITATrinket, Berks County Heritage Center, Clean Eatz Wyomissing, Crystal Cave, Finds on the Fritz, Firefly Bookstore, Funny Farm Apiaries, Geist Sporting Goods, Kitt’s Café & Gandalf’s Garden, Know; Body Botanicals & Apothecary, MotoPhoto, Peter Pipers Pickle Palace, Plum Creek Farm Market & Creamery, Reading Community Players, Rollie’s Place, Santander Arena and Performing Arts Center, Scoupe DeVille, Sublime Cupcakes, Sweet Ride Ice Cream, The Last Hairbender Salon, The Perk Up Truck, The Rustic Rose, Tracey’s Flowers, and Treasures Gift Shoppe.

Links to the participating establishments and details on their specific discounts are outlined at www.berkslibraries.org/save. Library cards are free to receive any of the 23 member-library locations in Berks. To apply, you must provide a photo ID and proof of residency. Children under age 18 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian when applying for a card.
