Berks W2W Awards Nomination Period Open

from Greater Reading Chamber Alliance

Berks Women2Women, a special program of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA), invites the Greater Reading community to nominate an extraordinary woman for one of its 2025 awards. The nomination period for the ATHENA Leadership Award, De Mujer a Mujer awards, and the new-this-year EmpowHER award is now open.

The ATHENA Leadership Award celebrates the exemplary leadership of a woman leader who demonstrates excellence, creativity, and initiative in their profession, provides valuable service to improve the quality of life for others in their community, and actively assists women in achieving their full leadership potential. Karen Norheim, President and CEO of American Crane and Equipment Corp., was the 2024 recipient. ATHENA Award nominations are due Thursday, March 14. The winner will be announced at the W2W Conference & Expo in April.

The De Mujer a Mujer awards are a celebration of the diverse women in the Greater Reading community. The Community Impact Award recognizes a woman who has shown leadership and commitment to the local community. The Young Changemaker Award is awarded to a young woman between the ages of 18 to 25 who has shown leadership and dedication to the local community. The Small Business Owner Award rewards a female business owner who is thriving and engaging in the local community. Nominations for all three awards are due Friday, May 2. Award recipients will be honored on Thursday, June 5, at the De Mujer a Mujer awards ceremony.

The EmpowHER Award celebrates the next generation of women leaders in Berks County, recognizing a young woman who exemplifies the values of Women2Women: leadership, empowerment, community impact, and the pursuit of excellence. This award is open to high school, college, and graduate students who have demonstrated a commitment to inspiring others, taking initiative, and driving positive change in their schools, communities, or personal networks. Nominations are due Thursday, March 14. The winner will be announced at the W2W Conference & Expo in April.

“The EmpowHER Award was created to shine a light on the incredible young women in Berks County who are already making a difference in their communities and beyond. At Women2Women, we believe in recognizing and nurturing the promise of future leaders who embody our core values of empowerment, leadership, and community impact,” said Jackie Stiles VP of Business Development & Special Programs, GRCA. “This award is our way of celebrating their achievements, inspiring others, and reaffirming our commitment to supporting women at every stage of their journey. It is more than a recognition—it’s an investment in the future of our community and the next generation of trailblazers.”
