A Perry Township woman died in Reading Hospital of injuries suffered in a crash Monday afternoon on Route 61 in the township, the Berks County coroner’s office said Tuesday.
Mary Bednarik, 57, was pronounced dead by a hospital physician at 4:45 p.m. Monday, Assistant Chief Coroner Debra Detweiler said.
Bednarik died of chest injuries and her death was ruled accidental, officials said.
The crash happened in the southbound lanes of Route 61 at Shoemakersville Road at 3:55 p.m.
Lane closures were in effect in both directions for hours after the crash while state police investigated.
Troopers haven’t released any crash details.
