The Blue Marsh Lake Dry Brooks Boat Launch and trail area will be closed Aug. 16 and 17 so workers can conduct a geophysical survey, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced.
The closure will take place both days from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the survey of the saddle dike at the boat launch off Palisades Drive in Bern Township.
The launch will be opened for evening boating activities and closed the following morning for the survey, officials said.
The section of trail that traverses the saddle dike also will be closed.
The survey will provide detailed images of the ground formations and the dike as part of regular inspections to evaluate flood risk management structures, officials said.
All other boat launches and recreation areas will be open during this time.
Boaters looking to launch can use the State Hill Boat Launch or Sheidy Boat Launch.
