St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 548 Old Swede Road, Douglassville, is holding its Apple Festival on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be served along with fresh-baked apple pies and apple dumplings.
Activities include blessing of the animals, Boyertown Alumni Band, Threefold Blessing, Party Animals and a youth talent show. Activity wristbands available for purchase for moon bounces, art bus, games and animal show.

CCC celebration
Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site, Union Township, is commemorating the contributions of the Civilian Conservation Corps with a guided hike and encampment Saturday. All programming is free to the public and will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A two-hour hike at 11 a.m. will explore places around the site where the CCC worked and temporarily called home. Reenactors will offer additional programs and demonstrations throughout the day that highlight the role the corps played in restoring Hopewell Furnace as well as the organization’s impact on the entire country during the Great Depression.
Activities will include mock CCC enlistment procedures, woodcutting and branding demonstrations, cooking and a chance to view a historic tenant house converted into a makeshift barracks.
The Ringgold Band will perform from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the upper parking lot. Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs..

Potpie sale
A takeout potpie and bake sale will be held Oct. 18 from 1 to 5 p.m. at St. Paul’s UCC Church, 5 W. Arch St., Fleetwood. Orders are due by Oct. 4 by calling 610-914-0557. Price is $10 for quarts and $5 for pints. Baked goods will be available to purchase when people pick up their orders.
On Oct. 19 the church will host an all-you-can-eat potpie supper, bake sale and silent auction from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Corn, coleslaw, applesauce, roll, dessert and beverage included. Potpie tickets are $12, free for children under 5.
