The Exeter Community Library will host a presentation on mortality and making the most of your life Monday night at 6.
Death Cafe features Dr. Bruce May, a longtime Berks County optometrist. He will share his journey from routine gym visits to grappling with terminal lung cancer. May supported his late wife in her cancer battle and passage. He volunteered for hospice and helped several friends come to terms with their mortality.
The library is located at 4569 Prestwick Drive, Exeter Township. Parking is available adjacent to the building. Admission to the event is free, and tea and cake will be served.

History show and tell
The Hamburg Area Historical Society will have show and tell on Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. in the James A. Gilmartin Community Room at Hamburg High School. Bring along a favorite historical item or part of a collection to share why it is significant to you. No guns, knives or other weapons.
Grief support
The sudSSpirit grief support group for those that have experienced the sudden unexpected death or loss of a spouse or significant other will meet Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 6 p.m. in the Exeter Community Library, 4569 Prestwick Drive, Exeter Township.

Orchestra concert
The Reading Philharmonic Orchestra, a group of volunteer musicians, will play a concert Sunday, Feb. 5, at 2:30 p.m. in Reformation Lutheran Church, 3670 Perkiomen Ave., Reiffton. The program, directed by Michael Slechta, will spotlight favorites from the classical and show repertoire as well as bring smiles from new musical themes. A free-will offering will be received.
Boutique canceled
The Spring Valley Boutique that was scheduled for Feb. 4 at Spring Valley Church of God in Muhlenberg Township has been canceled, according to organizers.
Valentine lunch
The Keystone Villa at Fleetwood, 501 Hoch Road, Maidencreek Township, has scheduled a complimentary Valentine’s Day lunch and heart-healthy presentation for Feb. 14 at noon.
Guests are invited to bring a loved one for a heart-healthy lunch and learn about things you can do to keep your heart healthy. All attendees will receive chocolates to go.
