Library card contest
The Reading Public Library, in collaboration with Reading Pride Celebration, is holding its inaugural Pride Library Card Contest. Local artists and creative minds are invited to submit their original designs for a chance to have their work featured on the official limited-edition library card.
Submissions are being accepted until April 30. The library is looking for vibrant and unique designs that celebrate the spirit of pride and inclusivity.
The library is accepting one entry per person. Artwork must include a design of 4.875 by 2.25 inches for the card, including a 0.125-inch bleed area. The keychain card would be a smaller copy of the artwork. All art or graphics used must be created by or owned by the artist.
The winning design will be unveiled June 1 during the Pride month kickoff event at the library main branch at 100 S. Fifth St. The winner will receive a $100 gift card.
The public will have the chance to exchange their existing library cards for the limited edition Pride Card during June. Newly enrolled library card holders can request the Pride card.
