Former Daniel Boone state champion Tucker Hogan will wrestle in the NCAA Division I Championships after finishing second at 197 pounds in the Mid-American Conference tournament.
Hogan, a two-time state champion at Daniel Boone, is a true freshman at Lock Haven University.
Hogan finished second in the MAC tournament and received an at-large bid for the NCAA championships, which will be held at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia March 20-22.
Hogan lost to Rider’s Brock Zurawski, 7-4, in the finals of the MAC tourney.
Hogan beat Joey Lions of Cleveland State University, 4-2, in the quarterfinals and then scored a major decision, 9-1, over Blake Schaffer of Kent State in the semifinals.
Lock Haven won the MAC title with 121½ points with Central Michigan second (113) and Edinboro third (97½).
At Daniel Boone, Hogan won state titles at 189 pounds his junior and senior seasons.
