Daniel Boone’s Tucker Hogan wins PIAA wrestling title in Class 3A at 189 pounds

HERSHEY — Junior Tucker Hogan became the first PIAA wrestling champion in Daniel Boone High School history with a victory Saturday night in Giant Center to cap a perfect season.

Hogan defeated Northern’s Cole Bartram 4-0 in the Class 3A 189-pound championship bout in the PIAA Wrestling Championships. The victory capped a 44-0 season for Hogan.

Hogan scored a reversal in the second period and a takedown in the third to defeat Bartram for the second time. Hogan had defeated Bartram 5-3 two weeks earlier to earn his second straight District 3 championship.

Also earning Class 3A medals were Daniel Boone’s Dean Houser, fifth at 121, and Wilson’s Jimmy Garcia, eighth at 121.
