Work is underway on Comcast’s latest expansion in East Nottingham Township, Chester County. The company said it expects to add more than 2,500 additional East Nottingham residents and businesses to Comcast’s suite of services.
“We are committed to investing in and expanding our network to ensure that more residents and businesses in Pennsylvania have the connectivity they need to succeed,” Dan Bonelli, senior vice president of Comcast’s Freedom Region — which serves East Nottingham and other areas of southeastern Pennsylvania — said in a statement. “We are proud to provide more Chester County residents with fast, secure and reliable Internet services that are built to meet the community’s needs today and into the future.”
Construction is expected to continue through the first part of this year, and when it is completed, residents will have access to Comcast Xfinity’s suite of Internet products, including the company’s Internet Essentials program that provides low-cost, high-speed broadband for income constrained households, the company said. For local businesses, Comcast Business offers a suite of connectivity, communications, networking, cybersecurity, wireless and managed solutions to help organizations of different sizes.
This is the latest expansion for Comcast, which over the last several years, has been expanding its Xfinity 10G Network to reach more than 315,000 additional homes and businesses throughout the state.
In Berks and Chester counties, communities that have been part of the expansion include Honey Brook, Elverson, Amity, Exeter and St. Lawrence.
Residents and businesses can visit Xfinity.com/MyTown/ and enter their address for additional details on construction timing and upcoming service availability. They can also stop by one of the Xfinity stores in Wilmington, 5601 Concord Pike or Exton, 106 Bartlett Ave., to check availability.
Since 2020, the company has provided more than $144 million in cash and in-kind contributions to support organizations across Pennsylvania. The company has also installed 190 Lift Zones in the state, which provide free Wi-Fi service to help these community centers promote digital learning, the company said. Lift Zones are part of Project UP. For more information, visit ComcastCorporation.com/broadband-partnerships.
