Crews contain fire at residence in western Berks

Crews contained a fire Thursday afternoon at a home in Womelsdorf Borough.

Calls came in shortly before 4 p.m. about a fire in the 100 block of W. High Street.

An air fryer caught fire, resulting in smoke and flames, according to emergency reports.

Medics were called to assist at least one resident of the home who was exposed to the smoke.

Crews arrived within minutes of the initial call, and reported smoke showing from the second floor of the building.

A line was stretched, and the fire was quickly knocked, emergency reports said.
