The police departments in the Pottstown area will be conducting an aggressive impaired driving enforcement operation, “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.”
Over the next week, the multijurisdictional DUI enforcement team will be conducting at least one sobriety checkpoint operation.
Officers from Pottstown, Douglass (Montgomery County), East Coventry, Lower Pottsgrove, Limerick, New Hanover, North Coventry, Upper Pottsgrove, and West Pottsgrove will be participating in this Team DUI activity.
Police plan to reduce the number of DUI-related accidents by deterring potential drunk drivers.
The enforcement team, commonly known as Team DUI, along with law enforcement statewide, is cracking down on impaired drivers.
Police offer the following advice to drivers: Keep your family and other families safe by designating a driver and never driving impaired. And remember — your seat belt is your first line of defense against impaired drivers. Just buckle up — and drive sober, or get pulled over.
