Evans companies support Hawk Mountain

The Evans Network of Companies recently joined the ranks as a premier corporate supporter for Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, the world’s oldest and largest member-supported raptor conservation organization and a famous outdoor destination for hiking and hawkwatching, the sanctuary near Kempton announced.

“Nature and wildlife reservation is very important to the Evans Network of Companies,” said Kim Lorimer, vice president of Schuylkill Haven-based Evans. “We support our local community and non-profit organizations that provide educational and preservation of our home.

“Hawk Mountain is a very important part of where we live, work, and play. The history, research, and preservation of its programs and land is not just important locally but globally as its reach is worldwide.”

The Evans Network supported the popular Birds and Brew, a sell-out event on the Sanctuary’s schedule on the Saturday closest to the launch of its annual autumn hawk count.

“Birds and Brew is a great fundraiser because it connects local breweries, distilleries, and wineries with a broad audience, all in the informal and beautiful atmosphere of the Sanctuary,” Hawk Mountain President Sean Grace said. “We are grateful to Evans Network of Companies for their very important and generous support.

The 2,500-acre Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is the world’s first refuge for birds of prey and is open to the public year-round by trail-fee or membership. To learn more about Hawk Mountain or other programs, please call 610-756-6961 or visit www.hawkmountain.org.
