Exeter beats Northeastern to finish seventh in the District 3 Class 5A boys basketball tournament

Colin Payne scored 13 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter as Exeter rallied past host Northeastern 58-55 Wednesday night and finished seventh in the District 3 Class 5A boys basketball playoffs.

The Eagles (13-13) trailed 44-41 going into the fourth quarter before outscoring the Bobcats (16-12) 17-11.

Reece Garvin had 13 points and Teddy Snyder had 11 for Exeter, which will open the PIAA Tournament against the District 1 champion Tuesday.

Karron Mallory scored 25 points for Northeastern.
