The Exeter won 3-0 over Wilson in a Berks Boys Volleyball League Division I matchup Tuesday at Reiffton.
The Eagles won by game scores of 25-13, 25-16 and 25-23.
Exeter (9-0, 14-0) continues its undefeated season as only two games remain until the Berks playoffs.
“Every week for us is about getting better and improving,” Exeter coach Matt Hadley said. “Our ceiling is very, very high and I feel like we haven’t reached that yet. We’re going to continue to get better and we have room to grow.”
The Eagles came out slightly flat on their Senior Night before they were able to flip the switch and begin to dominate.
They went down 8-4 in the first set before ending on a 12-0 run.
“Coming out with more energy from the start,” Hadley said on what his team can improve on. “It’s just our energy right from the start, coming out and taking it to teams right away.”
The Bulldogs (4-5, 5-10) kept the second set close until the Eagles went on a 13-2 run.
The third set would go down to the wire as the Bulldogs fought until the very end.
With two games remaining in the regular season, Exeter co-captain Gaige Gabriel, just like his coach, said he knows The Eagles’ potential.
“I think we need to steadily keep our energy higher,” Gabriel said. “(We need) to come out and play to win every single game, take no days off and take every team seriously. I think that is going to get us where we need to be. These guys (teammates) have improved, including myself, a ton. Working as a team, the chemistry has got a lot better.”
For the Eagles, Jack Forry had 30 assists, three kills, four aces, and six digs Chase Nugent had 11 kills, five digs and one ace and Gabriel had eight kills, six digs and two blocks
For the Bulldogs, Nic Skaf had nine kills and three aces and Ian McKee had six kills and two blocks.
Both teams will continue the league season Thursday. Exeter will take on Fleetwood on the road, while Wilson will face Daniel Boone at home.
