Jayden Zandier and Pharrell Caceres each ran for two touchdowns as Exeter defeated West York 49-7 in a non-league football game Saturday at York.
The game, which was suspended Friday night due to lightning, resumed Saturday morning at 11 a.m. with the Eagles (3-0) holding a 14-0 lead over the Bulldogs (0-3) and 1:44 remaining in the first quarter.
Zandier scored his first touchdown of the game on Friday night from the 7-yard line and Caceres scored on a 44-yard run before the storm ended play.
On Saturday, with the score 21-7 in the second quarter, Zandier scored on a 32-yard run with 3:38 left in the first half. Caceres scored his second touchdown to make it 35-7 just before halftime after an interception gave Exeter strong field position.
Kevin Oswalt and Alex Pineiro each had an interception for the Eagles.
In the second half, a 30-yard touchdown pass from Riley Martinez to Genuine Stutzman added to Exeter’s lead before a 7-yard TD run from Martinez closed the scoring.
