Flying Dutchmen Ski Club Hosts Annual Winter Sports Night at Reading Liederkranz

From Flying Dutchmen Ski Club

The Flying Dutchmen Ski Club invites the public to celebrate the start of the winter season at its annual Winter Sports Night on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 6 p.m., at the Reading Liederkranz in the club’s newly heated pavilion and beer garden. The event is free admission and open to the public.

This popular community event brings together skiers, snowboarders, and outdoor enthusiasts from across Berks County and beyond for an evening of connection and planning for the upcoming season. Attendees can meet local ski resorts, equipment vendors, and winter sports retailers, explore trip opportunities offered by the Flying Dutchmen, and enjoy food and beverages from the Liederkranz’s festive beer garden.

“This is one of our favorite traditions,” said a club spokesperson. “It’s a great chance to connect with fellow winter enthusiasts, plan trips, learn about local mountains, and see what’s new in the world of skiing and snowboarding while supporting a long-standing local club.”

The Flying Dutchmen Ski Club, founded in 1935, is a four-season outdoor recreation club based in Berks County. In addition to ski trips and lessons, the club offers a year-round calendar of hiking, biking, kayaking, and social events. The annual Winter Sports Night serves as both a community celebration and an open invitation for new members to join and get involved.
