Fred Beans Automotive Group raised $30,000 during October to benefit organizations helping area women navigate breast and ovarian cancers and champion new treatments and cures for the diseases.
Funding from the company’s 2025 Breast Cancer Awareness campaign was split evenly between Unite for HER and the PA Breast Cancer Coalition.
The automotive group dedicated a portion of its October vehicle sales and service bills to support the organizations. In addition, all Fred Beans dealerships hosted tables throughout the month to raise additional funds and share information about early detection of cancer and ways to support research for treatments and cures.
“Just about all of us know someone impacted by these diseases, and we have survivors on our own team,” Beth Beans Gilbert, vice president of Fred Beans Automotive Group, said in a statement. “That has motivated us to show support, whether by wearing pink or handing out information in our dealerships, and help with fundraising for our important partners, Unite for HER and the PA Breast Cancer Coalition.”
Pat Halpin-Murphy, president and founder of the PA Breast Cancer Coalition, said every car sold by the dealership during October helped the coalition provide support, compassion and hope.
“Drive Out Breast Cancer reaches patients in treatment today and fuels lifesaving research for the future,” Halpin-Murphy said. “Together, we’re finding a cure for breast cancer now… so our daughters don’t have to.”
To help make it easy for its employees to follow best practices for breast cancer screening, Fred Beans scheduled the Jefferson Health Mammovan to provide free breast cancer screenings to team members, the company said.
Unite for HER presented Fred Beans Automotive Group with its 2025-26 Community Partner Award in recognition of the company’s ongoing support for women’s health.
“We are grateful to you for helping to raise awareness, to innovate with Unite for HER and to award critical funds in support of Unite for HER’s mission,” Sue Weldon, CEO and founder, wrote in announcing the award. “You are proof of the incredible difference that just one company can make in a community.”
