February may be chilly, but it is a beautiful time to visit Garden Spot Village’s month-long Birdhouse Display and Silent Auction. This event features handcrafted birdhouses from the Garden Spot Village Wood Shop and spring bird-themed items from quilters, crafters, cross-stitchers and the Garden Spot Village Art Guild.
More than 100 items went up for bid on Feb. 1. Bidders can now visit in person or join this fundraising event online. The silent auction is open in Garden Spot’s Village Square Indoor Park at 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland. The link to the online auction is available at www. gardenspotvillage.org. The event will close in-person and online on Monday, Feb. 28, at 5 p.m.
Silent auction hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Those visiting the auction in person must wear masks.
The unique items in this silent auction make excellent gifts to usher in springtime. Garden Spot Village woodshop members, quilters, crafters, cross-stitchers, artists, and other talented residents have created and donated items to raise money for the Benevolent Care Fund.
Since first opening fourteen years ago, this annual effort has raised more than $47,000 to benefit the Benevolent Care Fund, supporting GSV residents who have exhausted their financial resources.
