Glenmoore man killed in Outer Banks boating accident

OUTER BANKS, NC—According to news reports, Francis Hennigan Jr., 50, of Glenmore was found dead at sea after a 50-foot sport fishing vessel he was traveling in from Cape May to Florida was found derelict at Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, on Oct. 19.

Taylor Flannery, 29, of Point Pleasant, was also on the boat, suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Neither man was wearing a life jacket, according to a report issued by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.

The men were headed for Beaufort, North Carolina for repairs to a propeller.
