Here are the traffic and parking changes for Saturday’s holiday parade in Reading

Reading officials have announced a series of traffic and parking changes to accommodate Saturday’s holiday parade.

The parade starts at 11th and Penn streets at 10 a.m. and travels along Penn to Second Street.

In preparation for the parade “no parking” signs will be posted Friday in the following areas:

• The 200 through 1000 blocks of Penn Street.

• The first blocks of North and South Second Street.

• The 200 block of Cherry Street.

• The first blocks of North and South 11th Street.

• The 1100 block of Perkiomen Avenue.

• The 1000 block of Court Street between Mulberry and North 11th streets.

All vehicles parked along this route must be moved by 6 a.m. Saturday. Traffic enforcement and towing will begin at 6:30 a.m.

At 7 a.m. Saturday, traffic through City Park will be shut down, and parade participants will have access.

The following streets will be closed to traffic:

• Rose Garden Road in City Park.

• The 1100 block of Washington Street.

• The 1100 block of Perkiomen Avenue.

• The 200 through 1000 blocks of Penn Street.

• 11th Street between Cherry and Washington streets.

• Fifth Street between Cherry and Court streets.

• The 200 block Cherry Street.

• The first block of South Second Street.

• The 100 block Franklin Street.

All traffic coming into the city from the Penn Street Bridge will be directed to turn left on Second Street, then right onto Court Street to go eastbound.

Third, Fourth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, Ninth and 10th streets will remain open for northbound and southbound traffic across Penn Street with police directing traffic at those intersections. Traffic will not be permitted to turn onto Penn Street during the event.
