High school football roundup: Cameron Small gains 210 yards in Muhlenberg’s win

Cameron Small gained 210 yards and scored five touchdowns as Muhlenberg defeated Reading High 48-0 on Friday night in a non-league football game.

Small scored on runs of 38, 2, 2, 27 and 80 yards. He carried the ball 12 times and averaged 17.5 yards per carry.

The Muhls (2-0) scored all their points in the first half with Small getting the first five touchdowns.

Fred Lacey caught a 46-yard pass from quarterback Adriel Baez and Michael Miller wrapped up the scoring with a 6-yard TD run.

Baez completed 4 of 10 passes for 167 yards.

Muhlenberg outgained Reading (0-2) 437-57 in total offense.

Kutztown 66, York Tech 26

Mason Sherry and Ian Bahr each ran for three touchdowns as Kutztown rolled to a 66-26 non-league win over York Tech on Friday night.

Sherry scored on runs of 5, 6 and 5 yards. Bahr scored on runs of 1, 2 and 49 yards.

Also for the Cougars (1-1), Ryan Walters scored on a 9-yard run and caught a 38-yard touchdown pass from Wyatt Stoess, who also threw a 5-yard TD pass to Tyler Wicke.

Kutztown rushed for 544 yards on 71 carries and had 621 yards of total offense.

Twin Valley 62, Selinsgrove 0

Lucas Myers rushed for 125 yards and scored three touchdown and Drew Engle added two touchdowns and 138 yards on the ground as Twin Valley rolled to a 62-0 non-league win over Selinsgrove on Friday night.

Myers scored on runs of 25, 7 and 76 yards. He carried the ball just 7 times.

Engle, who carried the ball 14 times, scored on runs of 38 and 9 yards.

Twin Valley quarterback Maverick Foster hit receiver Ben Grundy with a 77-yard TD pass near the end of the first quarter as the Raiders (2-0) led 21-0 after one quarter.

Twin Valley gained 417 yards rushing and 611 in total offense.

Hamburg 22, Midd-West 21

Isaac McFadden scored on a two-yard run and then ran in the two-point conversion with 26 seconds left in the game to rally Hamburg to a 22-21 non-league win over Midd-West on Friday night.

The Hawks (1-1) trailed 21-7 midway through the fourth quarter but pulled to within 21-14 when Thomas Johnson scored from 1 yard out with 4:22 remaining.

After McFadden’s touchdown to make it 21-20, the Hawks went for two and the win, with McFadden running in for the deciding points.

Exeter 28, Boyertown 10

Jacob Hafer ran for two touchdowns and passed for another as Exeter defeated Boyertown 28-10 in a non-league game on Friday night.

Hafer scored on runs of 1 and 6 yards and threw a 50-yard TD pass to Aidan Dauble.

Leading 21-10 midway through the fourth quarter, Hafer’s 6-yard TD run with 3:22 remaining put the game away for the Eagles (2-0).
