Hundreds take a ‘Walk for the Animals’ in Berks

Hundreds of people showed up to the Berks County Fairgrounds Saturday morning to support their furry friends.

They were taking part in Humane Pennsylvania’s 48th annual Walk for the Animals — an event that raises funds for the nonprofit organization that manages adoption centers, an accredited veterinary hospital, affordable wellness care, community support programs and emergency response team in Berks and Lancaster counties.

The event is one of the organization’s two biggest annual fundraisers. It included food trucks, a beer and wine garden, and dozens of vendors.
