From Berks County Wine Trail
Reading, PA – Berks County natives Darrin Scott and Dan Brown brought home a combined 14 medals at the recent American Wine Society national competition held in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Darrin, the former winemaker at Folino Estate received a Best Varietal award for the 2023 Pinot Grigio in addition to three other medals.
Dan won a total of ten medals for Deerfoot Winery, including a Gold for the NY81. The two winemakers have won a Best Varietal or Best of Show award in six of the last seven AWS competitions splitting the total at three each.
Darren is the former winemaker at Folino Estate Winery, 340 Old U.S. 22, Kutztown, PA. He is currently the winemaker at William Heritage Winery, 480 Mullica Hill Road, Mullica Hill, New Jersey.
Dan is the Owner and Winemaker at Deerfoot Vineyards and Winery, 1492 Ridge Road, Shoemakersville, PA 19555. Deerfoot operates a second tasting room at 348 N. Queen Street in Lancaster, PA.
