Worrall has served as president of Helping Harvest in Spring Township since October 2019. Under his leadership, the organization has increased food distribution, strengthened community partnerships and implemented programs to support vulnerable populations.

Helping Harvest is a member food bank of Feeding America, the nationwide network of food banks, food pantries and community-based organizations in the U.S. working to create a future where no one is hungry.

“I am deeply honored to take on the role of board chair at Feeding Pennsylvania,” Worrall said in a release. “Feeding Pennsylvania plays a crucial role in uniting food banks across the state to maximize their collective impact. I look forward to working with the dedicated team and board members to continue our mission of alleviating hunger and improving food access for all Pennsylvanians.”

Feeding Pennsylvania is a statewide nonprofit organization that partners with nine food banks to distribute millions of pounds of food annually to individuals and families in need.

As chairman of the board, Worrall will provide strategic oversight, advocate for policy changes and foster collaboration among member food banks to enhance their collective efforts.

Julie Bancroft, chief executive officer of Feeding Pennsylvania, said the board is pleased to welcome Worrall to the new role.

“With his candid and future-focused vision, evident during his tenure as vice chair since 2020, we are excited about his leadership,” she said. “Drawing from his extensive community-centric, nonprofit management experience, we are confident that Jay will continue to drive our mission and support Pennsylvania’s families facing food insecurity.”

She said Worrall’s appointment comes at a critical time as Feeding Pennsylvania continues to navigate the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath.

“His expertise in nonprofit management and food distribution will be invaluable in guiding the organization through these unprecedented times,” she said.
