The Junior League of Reading is delighted to host its second annual Bingo fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 6, at Bellevue Plaza Hall in Muhlenberg Township. The event promises an exciting afternoon of games and philanthropy, with doors opening at 12 p.m. and Bingo commencing at 1:30 p.m.
There will be many chances to win, including 20 rounds of prize bingo, three special games for cash prizes, a chance auction, and a 50/50 raffle. In addition to the games and prizes, a concession stand will also sell lunch, snacks, and other treats to enjoy as you play. Auction and prize items include products from local businesses, sporting event tickets, restaurant and dining gift cards, designer accessories, jewelry, health and beauty products, recreational gear, house and kitchenwares, passes for local attractions, and much more. Many of these generous contributions have been donated, and the Junior League expresses gratitude for the community’s support.
Tickets can be purchased through the official website at jlreading.org/fundraisers for $25 in advance. Tickets are available at the door for $30. All proceeds benefit the Junior League of Reading and Youth Empowerment Initiatives.
Funds raised at this event will enable the Junior League to sustain and expand its impactful initiatives in Berks County. One of its prominent programs is the Young Women’s Summit, a signature project that embodies its commitment to fostering the personal and professional development of young women. This annual two-weekend program, curated and facilitated by dedicated volunteers, empowers middle school girls to connect with themselves, their peers, and their community. Through interactive lessons, hands-on activities, thoughtful discussions, and fun social interactions, the young women always leave feeling empowered with their new skills. The Summit culminates with several service learning projects that the young women then present to representatives from local non-profits. In past years, recipients have included Safe Berks, Animal Rescue League, Mary’s Shelter, Veterans Making a Difference, Opportunity House, Helping Harvest, and many others. Funds raised at this event will help to continue these efforts and to do even more.
