Casey Remolde scored 15 points as Kutztown defeated Lock Haven 60-46 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic East game Saturday at Keystone Arena to clinch a berth in the PSAC Tournament.
The Golden Bears (12-2, 19-4) are the first team from the PSAC East to secure a playoff spot.
Kutztown held a 26-20 halftime lead over the Bald Eagles (5-11, 8-12) at halftime.
An 8-5 Lock Haven run to open the third quarter cut the Golden Bears’ lead to one. Kutztown then went on a 17-0 run and outscored the Bald Eagles 20-8 in the quarter.
Ahnera Parker scored a game-high 16 points for Lock Haven.
Penn State Harrisburg 112, Penn State Berks 35: At Middletown, Penn State Harrisburg shot 62% from the field in beating Penn State Berks in the United East.
Zayla Zelonka led Penn State Berks (0-10, 0-17) with 11 points. Kendis Butler scored 21 to lead Penn State Harrisburg (7-4, 12-7).
The Golden Bears have made it to five straight trips to the PSAC Tournament.
Men
Lock Haven 71, Kutztown 61: At Keystone Arena, Eli Washington scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Bald Eagles (4-11, 7-12) over the Golden Bears (4-11, 7-14) in a PSAC East game.
Jalen Bryant scored a team-high 17 for Kutztown.
The Golden Bears only shot 25% from the field and went 1-of-7 on 3-pointers in the first half as Lock Haven took a 33-23 lead.
The Bald Eagles shot 58.6% in the game.
Kutztown’s 61 points are the second-lowest total for game this season.
Penn State Harrisburg 89, Penn State Berks 39: At Middletown, Penn State Berks shot just 28.6% from the field in falling to Penn State Harrisburg in the United East.
Ladan Graves scored seven points to lead Penn State Berks (0-11, 0-17). Donyae Baylor-Carrol scored 18 to lead Penn State Harrisburg (10-1, 17-2).
