Letter: Story on Pearl Harbor evokes powerful memories

Editor:

Thank you for publishing “Recollections of 1941 attack” on Dec. 7.

Though I was only around 2 years old when Pearl Harbor was attacked, I am able to still recall learning of this day of infamy and its aftermath — America’s entry into World War II and the beginning of the nuclear age.

As a young person, and even to this day, my heroes were our military members; and, when we were of age, we joined them.

Today I want to believe that everyone lives in a much better world than in 1941, and that our inhabitants have learned about life, survival, and progress through history and God’s teachings.
