Local Architectural Firm and Contractor Invite the Public to See Collaboration Project

from Muhlenberg Greene Architects

Muhlenberg Greene Architects (MG Architects) and D&S Elite Construction Inc., two local leaders in the architectural and construction industry, have collaborated to execute a commercial project on the 1200 block of Penn Avenue.

The partnership centered on transforming the former Reading Orthodontics Group (ROG) building at 1268 Penn Ave. in Wyomissing into MG Architects’ new office. United by a commitment to quality and innovation, the teams from MG Architects and D&S Elite Construction Inc. combined their expertise to create a dynamic workspace that not only inspires MG Architects’ workforce but also supports local economic growth.

Joseph Delibertis of D&S Elite Construction Inc. emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving the project goals: “By working seamlessly together, we ensured that every aspect of the project was executed with precision and care. Our combined expertise resulted in a project that we can all be proud of.”

Adaptive reuse is the act of finding a new use for a building, which came into mainstream architectural vocabulary during the 1960s and 1970s due to the growing concern for the environment. MG Architects believes in developing existing structurally sound older buildings for viable new uses.

Additionally, MG Architects and D&S Elite Construction Inc. stimulated the local economy by creating employment throughout the design and construction process.

“We know that by working together, we enhance our businesses and also strengthen our community and our local workforce,” said Jim Sarro, Principal at MG Architects. “Local partnerships are key to keep our local economy vibrant and future-focused — and now — we can demonstrate successful infill development with our own headquarters, right on Penn Avenue.”

“Together, MG Architects and D&S Elite Construction Inc. are leading the way in demonstrating how local collaboration can yield positive results for our community. This partnership was about more than just building structures; it’s about building community,” said Delibertis.

An official Holiday Open House and GRCA Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to unveil MG Architects’ new workspace will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 5:30 p.m.

Special guest star Freddy Vasquez, Founder and Big Cheese of FXV Digital Design, will appear as Santa with the AWESOME TOY DRIVE ® on site to collect gifts for children in need this holiday season. Attendees are encouraged to call the firm to select a gift tag for a child in need and bring the unwrapped toy with them to the party.

Esteemed dignitaries already registered for the event include the GRCA’s Penny the Pig, who will be on hand in her holiday finery to pose under the mistletoe with her adoring public.

Business card raffles, a peek at the well-known MG Architects’ paper snowflake blizzard installation, and a paper snowflake make-and-take station will all be part of the fun. Beer, wine, and light fare from Gourmand will be served.

Register now to join the party, tour the facility, and speak with representatives from MG Architects and D&S Elite Construction Inc. regarding the project and their collaboration from 5-7 p.m.

Register online via the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance at greaterreading.org or call 610-376-4927 to RSVP.
