Longswamp Lions Club hosts 4th annual Roar to the Grove

The Longswamp Lions Club hosted its 4th annual Roar to the Grove car show June 15 at Hunsicker’s Grove in Mertztown.
A total of 142 trucks, motorcycles, and cars — antiques, classics and muscle cars — participated in the car show. The entry fee was a donation to support the Lions Club’s charitable work in the community.

Ed Goodhart of Fleetwood won the Roar to the Grove’s top award. His 1948 Chevrolet Panel Truck was voted by the participants for the Best in Show award.

The event featured music, food and awards and a visit by the club’s mascot Larry the Lion.

The Lions Club hosts its 5th Annual Roar to the Grove Aug. 17, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hunsicker’s Grove in Mertztown.
