Charges have been filed after an argument in Maidencreek Township led to gunfire, the Northern Berks Regional Police said Wednesday.
Franklin Batista-Diaz, address unknown, was charged with felony counts of carrying firearms without a license and discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, and misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering another person and criminal mischief.
Northern Berks police gave the following account in a press release:
On March 10 about 12:45 p.m., Northern Berks police officers responded to a call of disorderly conduct in the 300 Block of Sooner Lane, Maidencreek Township.
Once on-scene, officers determined that there had been an argument between two people over the purchase of a vehicle.
At some point during the argument, one person drew and fired a handgun.
An investigation followed, where officers found the fired bullet in the wall of a nearby home that had been occupied at the time of the incident.
Based upon information obtained during the investigation, charges were filed against a man identified as Batista-Diaz.
