The Yocum Institute for Arts Education is thrilled to take the show on the road with this year’s Summer Library Tour, a traveling production showcasing the extraordinary talents of the community’s youth performers, in partnership with Berks County Public Libraries. This year’s play for all ages – Hazel and the Empty Easel – is written by Albright College rising senior Ryan Elmore!
Performances are scheduled between July 14-25 and will pop up at 13 of the Berks County Public Libraries. The complete tour schedule can be found on the Yocum Institute’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
Performances are free and open to the public. The play will run approximately 30-35 minutes, and there will be time following the performance to meet and take photos with the ensemble.
“Yocum’s Summer Library Tour is the perfect embodiment of the Institute’s mission, combining education, entertainment, and community impact. This year is particularly special because we can highlight the talent of a student at an advanced level, by working with Ryan Elmore and his mentor Matt Fotis at Albright College,” said Adam Void, Director of School & Community Engagement at Yocum and director/tour manager for the production.
Hazel and the Empty Easel will teach audiences of all ages that creativity is within all of us, and sometimes it’s through our friends – old and new – that we can share our artistic vision with the world!
